Sourav Ganguly has been the ultimate comeback man of Indian cricket. His critics might call him cold, vindictive and lazy but the man has stood like a rock whenever crisis has come calling.
He has seen it all in a career spanning nine years stretching 82 Tests and 271 ODIs. Ganguly's inner strength has always been apparent.
In the county match against Kent he had told coach John Embury to expect big runs after scoring 69 in the first innings. He had a look at his shots on tape and was determined to play a big knock. His 125 ball innings studded with 15 boundaries and five sixes settled the issue.
It's this attitude which has made him captain of India and the only reason why Ganguly is India's most successful captain.

For a person like you...
You make a world record to stand for your lifetime.
For that elated feeling to sink in - it just takes time.
Only after that you will realize with all your senses
that you have broken the fences
and had just done something different.
It took time for me too,
Not that I did anything special.
Not that I am trying to be humble.
I have done nothing except
Listening, listening with a nodding gesture
And “acting” to be kinder
I am feeling really thankful
For such a card that was wonderful.
Thank you so much for the card
And in disbelief I starred
Not knowing to react to the glare.
Time has given in for the feeling to sink in.
For a person like you
Friends won’t be just few.
As you said I may be 1 in a million.
But I tell you,
There is 1 in every million,
You will end up finding more friends.

I may end up somewhere – timer is on
But I shall always be aware

Running down the road...
I am running down the road,
with lots of thoughts on head.
The road has been long
neverthless am very happy,
as it hasn't been bumpy.
As far as I have seen
it is all lush green.
Lush green on both sides and
flash lights all the way.
It is just the time to make hay.
Is it time to take strides?
or just do tic tac toe all along
and enjoy the green n the song?
It is good to stand and stare
but it may not be fair.
Let me keep going ahead
with lots of hope in my head.
