People I have met are so many.

You found a friend for yourself in me
I found this first, when we walked to
The book stall and we talked to
Each other on how you solved a
Math percentage puzzle and much more.

I wasn’t too much involved and
Wasn’t aware of what had evolved.
Friday night dinners, and bus stop drops
Did not help me either.

I had gone on a dream trip to US
And never did I scream “I miss you”.
Winding up my small stint I returned and
Surprising - you were happy to see me.
Small talks, witty remarks, space and time
With all these, we built trust for a lifetime.

Days have passed by and now
I wish I spend time with you being near by.

I did not miss you when I was in US but
I miss you when I am here in B’Lore.

People I have met are so many.
People like you are not very many.

It is my personal opinion and
I am biased – no don’t mention ssshhh!!

Success!!

Success is achieved twice.

Once in the mind and the second time in the real world.

Visualizing your goals and success is an important skill for any successful leader. There is a big difference between visualizing success and achieving it.

The secret of converting dreams into reality is actually no secret at all. Honesty, hard work, some luck and good execution capabilities can help in translating dreams into reality.

Achieving Success will not be an overnight exercise. "There will be a number of obstacles to any path we take up".

When adversity strikes, one can either succumb to self pity and despair or deal with the situation with courage and dignity.

Sourav Ganguly has been the ultimate comeback man of Indian cricket. His critics might call him cold, vindictive and lazy but the man has stood like a rock whenever crisis has come calling.

He has seen it all in a career spanning nine years stretching 82 Tests and 271 ODIs. Ganguly's inner strength has always been apparent.

In the county match against Kent he had told coach John Embury to expect big runs after scoring 69 in the first innings. He had a look at his shots on tape and was determined to play a big knock. His 125 ball innings studded with 15 boundaries and five sixes settled the issue.

It's this attitude which has made him captain of India and the only reason why Ganguly is India's most successful captain.

It took time for me too,

I am running down the road,
with lots of thoughts on head.

The road has been long
neverthless am very happy,
as it hasn't been bumpy.

As far as I have seen
it is all lush green.

Lush green on both sides and
flash lights all the way.
It is just the time to make hay.

Is it time to take strides?
or just do tic tac toe all along
and enjoy the green n the song?

It is good to stand and stare
but it may not be fair.

What is happening?

Just read an article on Millenium Stars - Agassi, M.Schummacher, Tendulkar, Woods and the like. The gist of that article - All these stars - toppers in their chosen field for years, decades - are all fading.

This world is a stage,
again we are actors, and the play is the life we live.

Every scene should end and the play should end or atleast give way to a sequel.

We come, we see, we conquer.
What next?

Do we remain on top forever?
Is the conquered land ours forever?

Cant Tendulkar be the most prolific bastman forever?
Cant M.Schummacher take the podium position #1 forever?

Life is not that simple.
Every year, everyday, every minute we are expected to work on staying on Top.

There starts another dream!

On a Roll

For a long time, atleast for me, everything is on a roll.
I am not sure if I have been pushing for things or I should have been pushing so effortlessly that I am not realising that the efforts have been put in.

Now the one in my "Likes" list- another trip to the US is just 2 days away.

I had to go to Kolkata to get my visa done. Kolkata is such a nice place, a nice blend of country side and sky scrapers. All those tall buildings I saw were giving a look of a building that was plastered some 10-15 years ago.

All those broad and nicely laid roads were sheilded on both sides by lake, ditch, garbage or whatever that you will never expect there.

Yellow cabs, hand pulled rickshaws, trams were using the roads while there were a few boats carrying fishermen - fishing in those lakes. You get to see all those in one shot. Remember I mentioned it is a nice blend. It is a metropolitan but still a "poor" state.

There are not many good hotels. You can NOT see a string of Saravana Bhavans, Udupis, Nandhinis there. It was hard for me to find a place for my lunch. I had to settle down in one of the snacks bar in the Metro Shopping Mall.

Again, this shopping mall was a house of some local shops and was not the address of some branded show rooms as one might expect.

I bought a few things - a box of organic tea and a photo frame notable among them - a souvenir I should hold and relish for years to come, until I make my next visit to Kolkata.

Next time I visit I wish I get to see Eden Garden, Ganguly's, Kali temple.

Back to the things that are on a roll for me. I just feel lucky.

Just waiting for things to happen

It has been a long time, a long time since I last blogged here.

Life is a mystery, all throught out your life you maintain 2 lists -Likes and Dislikes. you yearn for what you like, you dream, you live and you relish your "likes"

But the wonderful part - you keep pushing things from the Likes list to Dislikes list and vice versa.

There would be a point when you dont want to compromise on your Likes list. Do or die, hit or miss, loss or gain you desparately need those items in the Likes list.

Now, there is something that I have maintained in my Likes list for a long time.
The time has come to Live it. I just hope I can live my dream.

Let us see, the answer to this will no more remain cryptic.
We will know soon, 2 more days to go!

Life is a game

"Life is a game, play it!"

Everyone likes to win every game they play.
But why? Why am I different from everyone in this matter?

I more than "like" to win every game I play.
For me,
you live to win and make fame.
you live to be a "pin up" boy in someway.

Even if I lose
I want to go down fighting and
make a comeback as a lightning!

At the end of the losing battle I would be happy to tell
"I gave it everything I had. I didn't take my chances and that is what this game is all about -- you take your chances or you lose,"

I will give everything I have!
Let my opponent win, I wont lose!
Let him make a fight to win!
Let him realise,
he was better than me today!
Let him relaise,
he is not the best!

Basic needs of a man

Food, clothing and shelter - the three basic needs of a man.

Give him food
he will come out good!

Give him a dress
as a "pride" he will possess it forever!

Give him an address to live in
he would need a princess to live with!

"Food" - he wants that to be good and tasty!
"Clothing" - he wants that to be fitting and perfect!
"Shelter" - he wants that to be richer and larger!

Give him all three - and
you will agree with me - that
there doesnt end his tree of desire!

His desires grow!
and also his owes.

He owes himself a great effort
to fullfil his desires!

His efforts to borne fruit
he should have been a "born expert" or
atleast learn to become one.

Be the number one to desire and
when you realise that you have won
let there be another desire
to give you the fire
to go ahead, to go ahead of everyone.

who told "desire is the root cause of misery"
Let us rewrite!
"Desire is the root cause of party - and
party is the aftermath of victory"

Food is your party
laurels are your clothing and
the stage is your shelter!

now get your acts together
to be there!

What are you running after?

I have read somewhere,

"All the world is a stage and everyone in this world is an actor"

O ye, Shakespeare ? hmm I think so he said that.

There is one more,

"This world is a track and everyone in this world is an athelete"

People Run. People run after something.

Some people run after money
Some after pride
and some after lime light.

Stop. Period.

If only you had thought this Sh"ak"e haran is a great philospher in the making, stop there.
